TOKAT GAZİOSMANPAŞA UNIVERSITY 'WELCOME!
WHY FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES?
The Faculty of Health Sciences was founded in 1996 with the turnover of Tokat Health School, which was closed in 2016 and turned into a faculty.
It is a preferred faculty with high quality education system and strong academics.
The main purpose of our faculty is; In the light of the principles of Atatürk, the aim is to educate individuals who are scientifically insightful, contemporary and useful to themselves and society.
In the faculty where midwifery, nursing and physiotherapy and rehabilitation departments are accepted as active students, there are a total of 8 departments. 2 Professors, 1 Associate Professor, 15 Lecturer. There are 28 faculty members, 5 of whom are academicians and 5 of them are research assistants. Our faculty started nursing department in the department of midwifery in 1997-1998. In 2018- 2019, he started to take students to physiotherapy and rahabilitation department. 2018-2019 Education – Starting from the academic year, students have been recruited to the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
Since 2014 spring semester, Master's program in the Department of Midwifery of Health Sciences Institute is continuing.
Our students can continue their education with Erasmus student mobility between 3-12 months abroad. Internship mobility can also be done abroad. In short, the "Farabi Exchange Program" among students of the Higher Education Institutions and the University Exchange Program with the exchange students can continue their education in a domestic university for two semesters.
The development of students in social and cultural fields is as important as scientific studies. Student clubs have been established in order to enable them to make extracurricular activities in the most efficient way.

WHY DEPARTMENT OF MIDWIFERY?
Midwifery profession is as old as human history. In our country, the midwifery began with master-apprentice relationship, and with the development of education, midwifery schools, high schools, associate degree, bachelor's, master's degree and doctoral level education are carried out today. The profession of midwifery primarily aims to protect the health of the family and the child, generally the family and the community.
Midwifery education consists of theoretical and practical training for high school graduates for at least 4 years on a full-day basis. In the Transition to Higher Education Exam (YGS) and the Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS), it is necessary to get enough "MF3" points in the Department of Midwifery for the "Faculty" undergraduate program.
Midwives can find work in the Ministry of Health, Social Security Institution and universities and in private hospitals, maternity hospitals, child health and family planning centers, birth clinics and dispensaries. The unemployment problem is very low in terms of the possibility of working all over the country. After graduation, midwives can pursue an academic career by taking master and doctorate degrees in post-graduate programs, and can work as lecturers in higher education institutions with research assistants, associate professors and professors.
Aiming to train qualified manpower, Tokat Gaziosmanpasa University Faculty of Health Sciences Midwifery Department; In addition to an advanced theoretical education, almost half of the students are provided with an application-based education, and our students can benefit from our laboratories with advanced infrastructure within our institution and have the opportunity to practice at the Health Ministry and Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Health Application and Research Hospital. . They carry out these practices directly under the guidance of experienced and experienced trainers.
In addition to quality education, our students can benefit from the social facilities offered by our university. There are Kızılay Club and Puzzle Club within our faculty, and our students can have the opportunity to evaluate their free time and participate in social activities in these clubs. At the same time, our football team, which was founded in 2016, successfully fought in the competitions.
As a result, our department aims to provide world-class nurses who can provide excellent care based on evidence for patients / healthy individuals.
For our midwifery department, we are waiting for our faculty to be productive, open to change and development, who want to witness the first moments of a patient, compassionate, sincere new life.
WHY NURSING DEPARTMENT?
In our faculty, nursing education has been rooted in a long history. Education graduated from the best universities in our country, very competent in the field. Lecturer. Its members are run by 4 lecturers and 3 research assistants. Our nursing program has been prepared in a multidisciplinary understanding of education, providing the knowledge, skills and attitudes required by university education and providing social and cultural development.

WHY PHYSIOTHERAPY AND REHABILITATION
In parallel with the advances in science and technology and developments in the field of health care, increasing the chances of survival of the patients, understanding that the quality of life is as important as living, and evaluating the definition of being healthy in a wider perspective increased the need for physiotherapists and made the development of the profession inevitable. In spite of increasing physiotherapy schools / departments and hundreds of physiotherapists who graduated from these departments every year, the need of physiotherapists in our country is increasing in parallel with the health needs of societies.
The provision of health services in high quality and modern levels is possible with sufficient number of people and enough staff, as well as adequate space, infrastructure and equipment.
The number of physiotherapists per 100,000 people in 2012 in Turkey is recorded as 4, but today that number rises to approximately 15 European Union countries still than the average (40.3 per 100,000 people) is low.
Considering the population of Tokat (602.086) and the number of physiotherapists working in our province (70), the necessity of the services to be offered by the people involved in education, training and research activities is gaining importance.

At Gaziosmanpaşa University Health Sciences Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, aiming to train qualified manpower; in addition to an advanced theoretical education, an application-based education is provided to our students and our students can benefit from our laboratories within our institution and have the opportunity to practice in the affiliates of the Ministry of Health and Gaziosmanpaşa Health Application and Research Hospital.
